So You Want To Be An Animal Communicator? Part II – Focus For 17 Seconds!

thinking hardYesterday I suggested the “Pink Bubble Technique” as a visualization for manifesting what you want in your life. In that exercise you meditatively placed a picture of something you badly want inside a pink bubble and sent it off to float around the universe and collect energy for manifesting. It really works, and it is my favorite!

But here’s another technique guaranteed to help you get out of the rut of negative thinking and into the habit of thinking more positively, thereby creating a more rewarding and fulfilling life — all in keeping with that “law of attraction” we hear so much about these days. This is called the 17 second exercise and, I’ll warn you in advance, isn’t nearly as easy as the pink bubble one!

All you have to do is concoct a positive image and then feel, really feel, the concurrent happiness or other positive emotion it evokes, plant those two things firmly in your noggin and heart, and then hold on to them, hard, for 17 seconds.

Sounds easy, huh? Well it’s not always so easy, especially if you are the type of person who broods about a problem for hours, worries fretfully about every little thing, or focuses strongly on the less-than-perfect aspects of your life.

You know how, when you get really upset with your boss or your husband or a good friend, you can argue with them for hours inside your head? You don’t even realize you’re doing it half the time. It has become a habitual, negative way of using your brain, and you may have to work hard to change it by creating new habitual thought patterns.

That’s what the 17-second exercise is partly about. Training yourself to have your whole being focused in a positive way on the things you want to bring into your life rather than the things that are wrong with it.

According to the law of physics, there is something pretty magical about 17 second intervals, so holding an intentional thought for that length of time has very powerful manifestation potential. And if you can add another 17 seconds on top of the first 17, holding your visualization for 34 seconds, there will be an exponential factor added and you will have increased the power of the exercise several times over.

I know, I know, sounds like a lot of gobble-de-gook to some folks. Almost a little too technical or something. So … the easiest way I’ve found to use this exercise?

Just do a daydream. Like you did when you were little and could daydream for hours. Like sitting in class in the 3rd grade, staring out the window, and imagining yourself playing with your best friend (until you were RUDELY interrupted by the proverbial rap on the knuckles by your teacher!). Or like having your very own horse (took me a few decades to manifest that one, but I did daydream about it a lot).

You get the idea. So get on it. If you want to communicate with animals, then daydream you’re having a conversation with one of them and just enjoy the heck out of it! It’ll help make you into a fabulous animal communicator — sooner rather than later.
